Hyde Park Dollars are a promotional currency that can be used like cash at participating businesses throughout the Hyde Park community. Whether you’re dining, shopping, or treating yourself to a service, simply present your Hyde Park Dollars at checkout—businesses will accept them at full face value and provide change if your purchase is less than the amount of the certificate.

Businesses can redeem Hyde Park Dollars by bringing them to the Hyde Park BIA office in exchange for a cheque of equal value.

Hyde Park Dollars may be purchased through the Hyde Park Business Improvement Association. Hyde Park Dollars are dollar for dollar, 1 Hyde Park Dollar = $1 CAD. The purchase of Hyde Park Dollars is 100% tax-refundable for businesses, and a unique opportunity to motivate and reward customers and employees while bringing exposure to your business.

HYDE PARK LOYALTY CARD

The Hyde Park Loyalty Card Program rewards you for supporting local! Pick up a card and collect a sticker every time you make a purchase at a participating Hyde Park business.

Once your card is full, redeem it online or in person at the Hyde Park BIA office for $25 in Hyde Park Dollars (value subject to change). It’s our way of saying thanks for shopping local—and encouraging you to keep it up!

RIBBON CUTTING

The Hyde Park BIA Ribbon Cutting ceremonies are designed to raise awareness of new businesses opening in Hyde Park Uptown London. Each participating business has the opportunity to host a ribbon cutting ceremony, with photos / videos posted to social media channels afterwards.

CTV ADS

CTV AD PROGRAM

The Hyde Park BIA & CTV London have put together an advertising program for our members. Once per quarter, the Hyde Park BIA works with CTV to produce commercials for our businesses.

Opportunities to participate are announced through our business newsletter—keep an eye out for calls for interest!

BUS SHELTER ADS

The Hyde Park BIA has obtained advertising possibilities at the bus shelter located south of Gainsborough Road along Hyde Park Road. While the BIA is managing the space’s expenses, the selected business is requested to cover the ad creation costs at $150 + tax

FEATURE FRIDAY

Feature Friday offers its Hyde Park BIA member businesses the opportunity to have a promotional video filmed and edited free of charge. Feature Friday Video Shoots are a creative way for business associations to support their members, foster a sense of community, and promote local businesses.

MARKET EVENTS

The Hyde Park BIA hosts a variety of market events throughout the year, bringing the community together to shop, connect, and celebrate local. BIA members receive priority access and exclusive vendor rates—just one of the many perks of being part of our business community.

What is a BIA?

The Hyde Park Business Improvement Association (BIA) is a non-profit organization made up of local business owners and commercial property owners within a defined boundary. We work together to improve our area’s economic vitality, enhance its visual appeal, and promote our businesses through events, marketing, and advocacy.

Am I a member?

Membership is based on geography – if you own/operate a business on commercially zoned property or own a piece of commercial property within the BIA boundary, you are automatically a member.

What are the benefits of a BIA?

BIAs play a pivotal role in shaping vibrant, distinct neighbourhoods known as the go-to places for dining, shopping, working, and playing. They market the area effectively, helping local businesses stand out against online shopping giants, malls, and popular tourist spots.

BIAs are key drivers of urban enhancement and major contributors to the city’s economy and community well-being. The City supports BIAs with various programs aimed at fostering lively, competitive, and secure business districts.

Some ways BIAs boost their local economies:

Maintaining and upgrading streets and sidewalks.
Promoting the area through business directories, advertising, and festivals.
Organizing community festivals and events to attract visitors.
Enhancing safety and security and preventing crime.
Removing graffiti and unwanted posters to beautify the streetscape.
Developing strategic plans for attracting new businesses, conducting market studies, and making capital improvements.

How can I join the BIA?

Membership in the Hyde Park BIA is automatic for all commercial property owners and tenants located within our boundaries. If you’re unsure about your status or want more details, feel free to contact us for assistance.

How is the BIA funded?

The BIA is funded through a special levy collected by the City of London as part of property taxes on commercial and industrial properties within the BIA boundary. If you are a tenant, this cost is generally included in your rent. The funds collected are reinvested into programs, events, and improvements that benefit the entire business district.

What does the BIA do for my business?

We promote and support your business by:

Hosting popular community events like PondFest, Hyde Park Santa Parade, and the Hyde Park Christmas Market,
Running marketing and promotional campaigns, such as Hyde Park Dollars, social media features, CTV commercials, and bus shelter ads.
Enhancing streetscapes with beautification projects like banners, planters, and seasonal decorations.
Advocating for infrastructure improvements and business needs with the City of London.
